Xplenty is going to SAP TechEd: Vegas baby Vegas!

Xplenty will be presenting at exhibiting in SAP TechEd taking place on Oct. 21-25, at The Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center in Las Vegas. The date is rapidly approaching and we can hardly contain ourselves. With people coming from all over the US and the world, the exchange of ideas and technologies will definitely spur new concepts and products. Just as important, we’ll get to hear from a couple of pioneers from the industry, listen to their stories, and apply their personal experiences to our own.

SAP CTO Dr. Vishal Sikka will be this year’s Executive Keynote speaker. What can you say about him that hasn’t already been said? Dr. Sikka led the charge in developing SAP’s incredibly successful in-memory platform, HANA. His concept of "timeless software", renewing products without interrupting current environments, is a key cog in the strategy of SAP. VERY excited to hear him speak. Bringing a bunch of notepads.

The second speaker, Nate Silver, is a personal favorite. He is the tounder of the award winning political website FiveThirtyEight.com and is author of New York Times best seller The Signal and the Noise. However he’s is most loved (by us, that is) for developing a system for predicting individual baseball players’ statistics known as Player Empirical Comparison and Optimization Test Algorithm, or PECOTA. It can predict player performance and development, as well seasonal team records. We like big data and baseball.

Not only do we get to learn from the speakers and present ourselves to the SAP masses, but there will be a continual meeting of the minds on the show floor. From industry experts to SAP exhibiting partners, SAP CodeJam, Technology Showcase, the Networking lounges, and interviews in the TechEd LIVE studio, the floor will be a whirlpool of different types of expertise and technologies, all getting together to exchange ideas, but also to rub elbows and just hang out.

But we’re not going just to visit, oh no siree-bob. We'll be presenting as well and we are PUMPED for it.

They say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but we plan on leaving knowing about new technologies, having ideas on how to improve ourselves, and obviously having made new friends. All in all, it promises to be a great experience.
