Welcome to Xplenty's Blog
All things data
New Xplenty features: Redshift merge, Google AdWords Reporting integration and scheduler enhancements
New Xplenty features: processing small files, importing Heroku connections, MongoDB secondary replica sets and more.
Many new functions are now available and also run-time variables in the job history.
We now have these additional features for you..
Analyzing the large amounts of data in your data warehouse is now easier than ever with support for the Cube and Rollup functions. You can now aggregate your data across multiple field combinations in one step. Besides reducing the steps required, the processing is now more efficient.
We've been busy adding new features since the last announcement.
Xplenty now provides the capability to directly access source data from relational databases. You can use the new Database Source component to read data directly from Postgres, MySQL and Amazon RDS.
On Monday April 7th an OpenSSL security update was released for the "Heartbleed" vulnerability. Here at Xplenty we've immediately installed the security update to protect ourselves from this vulnerability and are reissuing our SSL certificate.
Xplenty now supports the capability to join dataflows using non-equality conditions to compare values between the dataflows. This is done using the new cross join component to define the data sources to join and then applying a filter to the joined dataflow.
Hey all you out there in Xplentyland. We haven't forgotten about you. In fact, we've been thinking about you since the last update regarding new features, because we've been adding...you guessed it, new features! So away we go...

With all of the various providers around here, as an attendee it can sometimes be easy to get lost in the sea of technology. However we had a great time today demoing our SaaS Hadoop to at least 100 people. Success.
The first full day of re:Invent has come and gone, and it was a great day. Thousands of people from all areas of technology connecting and learning, and most importantly spreading knowledge.
Here we are...AWS re:Invent 2013 in Vegas baby Vegas!
We're excited to partner with Hortonworks, the makers of the Hortonworks Data Platform. We believe Hortonworks plays a significant role in the Hadoop ecosystem and powering Xplenty with HDP provides us with the performance and scalability we need in order to deliver our service.

Xplenty will be presenting at exhibiting in SAP TechEd taking place on Oct. 21-25, at The Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center in Las Vegas. The date is rapidly approaching and we can hardly contain ourselves. With people coming from all over the US and the world, the exchange of ideas and technologies will definitely spur new concepts and products. Just as important, we’ll get to hear from a couple of pioneers from the industry, listen to their stories, and apply their personal experiences to our own.
After a weeks long contest in which 42 different companies were voted on and compared, Xplenty prevailed and was listed on CIO.com's Top 10 hottest Big Data startups. Thank you so much to Jeff Vance for the great writeup, and thanks to all those that voted for us. We appreciate everything.
Here, at Xplenty we’re gearing up for the release of our Hadoop-as-a-Service platform in a few days’ time. We’re very excited after working really hard in the past year to make our product as great as it possibly can be. We’re true believers in enabling Big Data technologies in general, and Hadoop in particular to the real users of data.
We are proud to announce a few enhancements we've just rolled out.
- Account Members - you can invite your friends and colleagues to help you solve your big data problems. Just go to your account settings, click members and invite them.
- We also added new Watchers API endpoint which enables you to list a cluster or job watchers, add the authenticated user as a watcher, or remove the authenticated user from the watchers list. Check out theWatchers documentation.
We’ve rolled out some new features for you to manage your cluster and jobs.
We’ve been busy upgrading the platform and have some nifty new features for you.
Xplenty is pleased to announce we are launching a public release. Now anyone can sign up, get a free 14 day trial period in which they can build packages and test them. Then, once you've realized how easy it is to process large amounts of data using Xplenty, you can pick a pricing plan and become an actual paying customer. The pricing plans determine the maximum size and number of clusters that can be created in an Xplenty account. Existing customers will not be affected by the changes.
Your very own Xplenty was one of 25 companies chosen from a field of over 100 to present at Tech Tour's 2nd Cloud & Big Data Summit on November 21-22, 2012 in Lausanne, Switzerland. We were identified as one of the upcoming and leading high-growth privately held Cloud & Big Data companies in the region. The Cloud & Big Data Summit is the only event that gathers high profile insiders, established start-ups and venture capitalists to delve into the heart of today's most pressing Cloud & Big Data related challenges and topics.
We're very happy to launch the Xplenty site and to share our vision - and of course our product - with you.
